Are you planning your wedding at Hendall Manor Barns?

Awesome! I have compiled a list of suggestions and ideas to help you plan. This blog will guide you to achieve the best photos with your photographer while you feel relaxed and organized.

About Hendal Manor Barns

Located in the countryside of East Sussex between the A22 and A26 roads it is super easy and quick to reach yet it’s very quiet and undisturbed.

It is a family-run and private wedding and events hire venue. The barn is kept in a really good condition with attention to detail and a high-end finish in all areas. You and your guests will have access to all areas of the barn which includes the stunning enclosed terrace and lawn.

It is also possible to book onsite accommodation for up to 6 guests in their 17th-century holiday cottage. Perfect for getting ready in the morning stress-free and staying after a long day in a comfortable place.

Plan early, book first before others.

Hendall Manor Barns just like other similarly beautiful venues book up early and sometimes have a limited number of bookings for each year. It is recommended to get in touch with them as soon as you have your date to see their availability.

Book a viewing and if you have already booked your photographer/videographer invite them, too.

The space

There is plenty of space for all your guests whether they want to enjoy some fresh air on the court or prefer to be inside the stone barn. At the front of the main building, there is also a large space for the car you arrive with and for your guests to line up for some awesome confetti or sparkle exits.

Photo opportunities

Plan more than one! Ask your photographer to arrive early so they will not only be able to capture the details but will have time to photograph the preparation, too.

During the day use the most obvious locations for the photo shoot such as the pond and the double swing. There are plenty of large trees around these areas to give you beautiful soft light even in harsh sunlight conditions.

Keep an eye on the timings for the sunset so you can have another quick session with your photographer in some beautiful light conditions. This time you can be anywhere on the property as long as you can see the setting sun.

Group photos

There are plenty of locations to choose from for the formal group photos and depending on the lighting conditions you should consider several options. If you are not sure where to position your guests and family for the portraits you can always ask your photographer for ideas for the best locations.

I have chosen the location for the photos in front of this beautiful 17th-century sandstone barn as the sunlight was the best at this angle and the building behind gave a great consistent backdrop.
