About Morden Hall Weddings
Nestled in 125 acres of National Trust parkland, Morden Hall is a dream wedding venue for many. Although the building was established in the 18th century the attention to detail and luxury finish are maintained throughout the whole venue. It’s very easy to access from A297 (Morden Hall Rd) via a private road leading to a fairly large car park just by the main building.
Sycamore Suite
Getting ready stress-free is key for a great wedding. The Sycamore Suite is located on the second floor and it’s the smaller one of the two suites on this floor of the building. With its large windows and comfy sofas, this is an excellent room to get ready before the ceremony and be close to the arriving guests.
Hawthorn Suite
Hawthorn & Cherry Suite are the larger rooms on the same floor situated directly above the Willow Suite where most ceremonies take place.
There is plenty of space for all your preparations, a private room with an ensuite, and a dressing room. The main room is large enough to accommodate your helping guests, hairdresser, and makeup artist.
Willow Suite
Ceremony
There are two main rooms which can be reserved for your ceremony. The Willow Suite is the smaller one of the two and if you need a little larger space the Mulberry Room is probably the best choice. Both rooms have great natural light and easy access to the gardens.
Reception – Mulberry Room
Most receptions are held in the larger, Mulberry Room. With its large windows all around the room during the day, you will have beautiful natural light and great views of the gardens. If your wedding has a late reception or in winter don’t worry, the room has also very good lighting.
Even with 8+ tables fitted in, there is plenty of space to walk around the room. For speeches, it is recommended to arrange speakers and microphones as the room has a very high ceiling and being rather large it’s harder to speak loud enough to hear well. The food is 5 * and so is the service.
Oak Suite
There are plenty of locations to choose from for the formal group photos and depending on the lighting conditions you should consider several options. There is a large front garden with beautiful trees in the background which is probably the best place to start with.
At the time I photographed a wedding here it was heavy rain throughout the day so I had to find a good location inside. I have chosen the Oak Suite as it had the best lighting and after moving a table and a couple of chairs we had plenty of space to make it work well.
Evening party
While you’re having your reception the team will work hard to arrange the party floor to start the night. Whether you hire a band or have a DJ to play some great songs you and your guests will have a fantastic time. Probably the Willow Suite is the best to have the dance floor set up as it’s located close to two other rooms with comfy sofas and of course the bar is there too.
