About
This venue is so special in many ways. First and foremost it was a working mill and a factory, and later during World War II, it was used as a hospital before it was finally converted into a pub. It’s located on the outskirts of Elstead by the River Wey surrounded by the lovely English countryside. Upon entering the building makes you feel like stepping back in the past hundreds of years.
Details from the past
This place is full of little details marking the past few hundreds of years. With some handcrafted bunting and textile bouquets, you can make the rooms more personalized yet keep the authenticity of the place.
Ceremony at the Cygnet Suite:
For up to 70 seated guests the Cygnet Suite is the larger room for ceremonies. This place has a very special vibe with the large windows overlooking the river, rustic wooden beams, industrial brick walls, and that furniture. A large table at the end of the room where you can seat after the ceremony is over and enjoy a little moment with your partner.
Front garden
A wonderful place to be after your ceremony if the weather allows enjoy the fresh air with your guests and family just outside of the pub by the car park.
There are several great places for traditional group photos. I have chosen as seen in the third image above. I simply loved the trees framing up the image and the lovely cottage in the background. If the grass isn’t super wet and muddy like at the time I was there the opportunities are even greater for locations.
Reception & evening party
Although the room is the largest you could be renting for a wedding reception in the region 30 people will be very comfortable in the dining room of Cygnet Suite which will make the event feel very cosy and bring everyone close together to make it more intimate.
